DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 781 is a Weinhold protractor mounted on a very heavy base to obtain stably both horizontal and vertical orientations. It was used in light reflection and refraction experiments as well as to observe spectra.
The accessories are contained in a wood case and described in exhibit 541. All the accessories have a dovetail base, to be insertable in the guide present on the protractor. The more important accessories are a collimator with adjustable slits and a telescope: when mounted on the protractor, one has a spectroscope. Another use is the measure of the angles of prisms.
