DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 680 is a brass ring of diameter 1,5 cm with the outer surface in the shape of a "U" to facilitate winding a coil of a few turns (about 10). This ring was part of a rudimentary galvanometer in which the current in the coil created a magnetic field which rotated a permanent magnetic needle through an angle the sine of which was indicative of the current. The needle was suspended above by a torsion wire and fixed below. The image-1 was published in the volume of M. Zannotti and L. Pinto
