DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 576 is an organ pipe constructed exactly as that of exhibit 575 whose working can be further clarified by the following considerations (Ref 2). Initially the air inside the pipe has the same pressure as the outside air; when air passes through the mouthpiece it becomes a thin laminar flow 'V' (design:1a). By Bernoulli's law the high velocity of this air implies a zone of low pressure in the flow and a consequent suction of air into the pipe and a lowering of the pressure which deflects the laminar flow towards the inside of the pipe. The laminar flow keeps adding air inside the pipe which then pushes the laminar flow outside again. The overall result is a cycle of pressure changes inside the pipe which is perceived as sound.ISCRIZIONI
