DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 429 is a camera lucida, an optical device patented by the English doctor, chemist and physicist William Hyde Wollaston in 1806 to facilitate the transfer of the image of an object in front of the designer to a sheet of paper. The device consists of a quadrangular prism in which total reflection superposes the image of the object on the paper where the designer draws with a pencil. This device was soon improved by G. B.
