DESCRIPTION
The thermo-electric battery invented by Nobili consists of many thermocouples in series exploiting Seebeck's 1821 discovery of the conversion of heat energy into electrical current. The thermo-electric current is obtained by welding together two different metals and maintaining the joints at different temperatures. The current resulting from a single combination is quite small, hence the advantage of connecting many thermocouples in series. A good metal combination is antimony and Bismuth.BIBLIOGRAPHY
