DESCRIPTION

Exhibit 334 is a molecular vacuometer. To measure low pressures (FR01: [ \rm 10^{-3} \div 10^{-7} mmHg ].) in which the mean free path of the remaining molecules can reach several meters, the measurement instruments must necessarily be based on the kinetic theory of gases and are called "molecular". There are various types of vacuometers; many depend on friction phenomena that depend on the number of molecules per unit volume, friction that damps an oscillating quartz fiber or that damps the rotation of a torsional system. Others depend on thermal or electrical conductivity. This model depends on ionizing the gas and counting the number of positive ions. It was invented by the German physicist Wolfgang Gaede (1878–1945),and can measure pressures from FR02: [ \rm 10^{-1} \div 10^{-4} mmHg ].).
