DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 309 is a standalone second hand intended for the pendulum clock 308. It has its own dial with 60 lines on which the numbers 15, 30, 45 and 60 are incised. The movement of the pendulum closes a circuit each swing due to a small finger at the end of the arm of the pendulum which contacts a copper strip. The ensuing current activates a coil which attacts an iron blade which transmits its movement to a toothed wheel attached to the second hand. When the pendulum returns opening the circuit the blade is pulled back by a spring (see design-1).BIBLIOGRAPHY
