DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 279 is a natural magnet, a piece of magnetite enclosed in a brass and iron cage with a ring on the top. On one iron side, there is an "S" and on the other side a "N", to indicate the polarity of this piece. Magnetite is a mineral of iron FR01: [ \rm FeO\cdot Fe2O3 ] that has the capacity to attract iron and some other ferromagnetic materials (nickel, cobalt, iron compounds and some iron alloys)Dati Catalografici
