DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 260 is an example of a Lindemann electrometer. It is a 4 cm diameter cylinder with a 5.5 cm diameter base and protruding terminals. It is a type of quadrant electrometer, designed to be portable and insensible to change of orientation. The quadrants are two sets of platelets separated by a few millimeters mounted on a quartz support; when a voltage is applied to the needle, it rotates on its quartz suspension toward the platelet with the opposite charge. The rotation of the needle can be observed through the microscope.ISCRIZIONI
- Sullo strumento sono incisi: la sigla del costruttore: "C.I. Co. Ltd.", il numero di catalogo (C 120322) e il nome dello strumento: "Lindemann electrometer". E' inoltre inciso un simbolo a forma di circuito che deve essere il logo del costruttore.
