DESCRIPTION

Exhibit 819 is an apparatus invented by Elihu Thomson (1853-1937) which consists of a coil associated with an iron core of wires and a series of conducting rings. When current is applied to the coil the surrounding rings have currents induced in them and the corresponding magnetic moments lead to repulsive actions as well as a flash of light in the little bulb. Elihu Thomson was the founder of his Electric Company which was fused with the Edison company to form General Electric.
