DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 774 is a classical Bunsen burner that burns a continuous flow of gas without the risk of a return flame.
The device consists of a vertical brass tube soldered to a heavy cast iron base. Near the base there is a nozzle that permits the emission of gas (methane, propane or butane). Near the lower end of the tube there are two holes coverable by a sleeve which has also two holes of the same diameter so that by rotating the sleeve one can regulate the amount of air entering the tube and thus the intensity of the flame on the top.
In the museum collection, there are other Bunsen burners, made mainly in the first half of the twentieth century:
- exhibit 872
- exhibit 914
- exhibit 915
- exhibit 916
- exhibit 917
