DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 636 is a large empty tin sphere wih a gold surface. It is mounted on a glass column, inserted in a circular wood base.
There are three holes: one on top, another on the circumference and another in the inferior part. The last one is provided with a hook for connecting to an elecrostatic machine for charging the sphere.
The sphere can be used in electrostatic experiments, in particular to demonstrate that a charge distributes itself on the surface of the conductor.
