DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 586 is a Plucker tube used as a source of excited hydrogen for the study of the atomic spectrum. The tube has a central part which is a capillary in order to have a concentrated and intense source. The tube is held in position by glass clamps fixed to a metal bar supported on a heavy metal base. The current through the gas is supplied by a Ruhmkroff spark coil activated by low voltage continuous current. The apparatus was used for the study of the hydrogen spectrun using a spectrometer with a reticule.ISCRIZIONI
