DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 56 is an improved version of the camera lucida, invented by William Hyde Wollaston in 1804, realized by G. B. Amici in 1819. It facilitates the reproduction of designs on paper of an object in front of the designer. When looking in the slit, one sees simulataneously the design paper and the object to copy. There is a blue filter which helps to balance the luminosity of the paper and the object. This instrument is mounted on an inclinable telescopic staff fixed on a heavy base.Dati Catalografici
