DESCRIPTION

Exhibit 478 is an inverter of phase or of polarity constructed in a way which makes visible the switching action. It appears as a wood base on which are fixed two sets of terminals. Each pair is connected with brass springs which make contact with brass strips fixed on a fourth of a cylinder which can rotate controlled by a small handle. The strips are designed so that in the extreme position the polarity of a DC current is inverted or the phase of an AC current has the phase inverted.
