DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 460 is a large Nicol prism in the form of a rhombohedron, whose sides are wrapped with opaque paper and protected by a cork cover; all enclosed in a brass cylinder painted black on the inside.
This prism is very similar to the one described by T.B.Greenslad [3] in a photo (missing). Thus this Nicol prism was prepared to be utilized in a solar microscope (see design 2 [2]) for demonstrations with polarized light.
See also exhibit 46.
