DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 449 is a telescope that can slide along its rotatable and adjustable-in-height support column which has a base with three leveling screws, entirely realized in brass. At the top of the column there is a holder for a graduated ruler. The telescope and ruler are the fundamental elements for the application of the Poggendorff method for observing the rotations of small mirrors attached to torsion supports in various instruments, such as galvanometer, etc. See also exhibit 371 for a clarification of the Poggendorff method
