DESCRIPTION

Exhibit 448 is a Dubois-Reymond galvanometer of the type in which a magnetic needle rotates in the magnetic field of a fixed coil. The instrument rests on a brass base furnished with a glass bell jar and three leveling screws. In the center of the base is fixed the coil above which was suspended the magnetic needle by a missing wire. In a brass support in the form of a squared arc is inserted the screw that adjusted the tension in the supporting wire. The equilibrium position of the needle could be read on a paper disk graduated from 0 to 9. There are the usual four terminals for the external connections.
