DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 431 is a device composed of three prisms, of which the central one is fixed and the two lateral ones are rotatable. When observing objects through the single prisms, the images appear colored on the edges due to light dispersion. By using all three prisms, it is possible to eliminate the coloring by rotating carefully the two side prisms to obtain uniform deviation for all wave lengths.
The three prisms are separately fixed in the metallic structure which is mounted at variable height on a heavy base.
