DESCRIPTION

Exhibit 420 is an anemometer that records the velocity of the wind along the eight cardinal directions, (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW). It consists of eight coils that receive from a transmitter (now missing) an electrical signal proportional to the wind component in that direction. The wind direction is determined since in each direction a separate coil is activated. Each coil is connected to a stylus that leaves a trace on the millimeter paper fixed to a rotating brass cylinder which makes a rotation per week driven by a clockwork. The instrument is fixed on the base of a metallic box with glass walls and frontal access for substituting the paper on the cylinder. See also exhibit 417.
