DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 417 is anemometer to measure the velocity and direction of the wind. The element which measures the velocity of the wind is a three cup windmill on a vertical axis whose rotation drives a permanent magnet alternator to generate a current proportional to the wind velocity. The element which measures the direction of the wind is a wind vane that orients a drum in the wind direction. The wind direction and velocity could be transmitted to an external receiver via cable. See exhibit 420.
