DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 409 is a statoscope, a barometer that records small variations in the atmospheric pressure. It is composed of a series of bellows contained in a tank which is in comunication with the outside through a valve. The statoscope can be used to record rapid variations in the atmospheric pressure during storms or cyclones. It can also be used to measure pressure gradients by closing the valve before moving the statoscope to another altitude before opening the valve.
