DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 369 is an electroscope based on a brass shaft with a sphere on the top and a graduated scale and orientable needle on the lower part. The shaft is enclosed in a box with three sides of metal screen and metal screen also on the top. The bottom of the box is glass and the front is open. The box has a wood base with three screws for leveling. There is a hook on the back to permit grounding the entire metal screen. When the electroscope is charged through the sphere, the charge appears also on the lower part and the needle rotates to indicate on the scale the intensity of the charge. To operate properly the shaft must be insulated from the metal screen where it is passed through the top.BIBLIOGRAPHY
