DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 368 is a Braun electroscope based on a brass shaft with a sphere on the top and a graduated scale and orientable needle on the lower part. The shaft is enclosed in a metal enclosure with a hook for grounding. When the electroscope is charged through the sphere, the charge appears also on the lower part and the needle rotates to indicate on the scale the intensity of the charge. The shaft is isolated from the enclosure by an insulated gasket on the top. To operate properly the shaft must be insulated from the metal screen where it is passed through the top.BIBLIOGRAPHY
