DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 337 is an instrument for measuring the density of a liquid. It consists of a glass tube with two enlargements, one below the graduated scale and the other at the extreme end. The latter contains a quantity of mercury. It is graduated in grams per liter with values from 700 to 1000 in intervals of 2 g/l. The scale is handwritten on a sheet of paper rolled up inside the tube.
The mercury in the lower extreme serves to keep afloat vertically the densitometer in the liquid being examined. The weight of the densitometer is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced in the equilibrium level.
