DESCRIPTION

Exhibit 323 is a spark visualizing bottle which utilizes aventurine glass as spark propagators. These propagators are wrapped in a spiral around the bottle, which has a large inverted bulb and a narrow neck and is supported on a heavy metal base, and the last propagator is grounded. Aventurine glass is a glass of great beauty whose origin is due to chance having been obtained by a Murano glass master, V. Miotti, who "just for kicks" (an adventure) dropped copper filings in molten glass. It is a translucent glass, almost opaque, light brown, or red, with internal star-like spots of golden yellow metallic glitter called "stellaria". To visualize sparks, an electrostatic machine is connected to the top of the spiral and its discharge is then propagated through the spiral creating the effect of moving light as in christmas decorations.
