DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 287 is a D'Arsonval galvanometer as realized by Siemens. The instrument rests on three legs, two of which are adjustable to obtain perfect leveling as guided by the bubble level. The instrument consists of a cylindrical permanent magnet in the middle of which is suspended a conducting wire on the end of which is a coil wound on a cylinder of soft iron. When a current flows in the coil, the soft iron cylinder is deviated and the small mirror rotates reflecting a beam of light to be observed according to the Poggendorf method (see exhibit 371). There are two terminals for the external connection and a shunt.ISCRIZIONI
