DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 284 is a D'Arsonval galvanometer similar to the one in exhibit 29, but constructed by another laboratory, Physikalische Werkstatten. The apparatus rests on three feet, of which two are adjustable for leveling guided by a bubble level. The instrument consists of a permanent cylindrical magnet in the middle of which is hung a thin conducting wire with a small mirror. The lower part of the wire is soldered to a coil wound around a block of soft iron. To measure a current, the rotation of the mirror is observed using the Poggendorff method and a telescope. There are two terminals with a shunt incorporated.ISCRIZIONI
