DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 208 is a coherer, invented by the Italian Calzecchi Onesti, to demonstrate that a metallic powder can conduct current in the presence of radiofrequency signals. It consists of a small glass tube containing a metallic powder placed between two electrodes attached to a DC battery. The sparks from a piezoelectric gas lighter are sufficient to render conductive the metallic powder and cause the LED to light. With a slight vibration, the LED circuit is interrupted and the LED darkens.The tube is conserved in a cotton-lined wood box
