DESCRIPTION
Exhibit 259 is a Geiger Muller counter capable of revealing each passage of a charged particle in its interior filled with a gas It contains two electrodes held at different high voltages. When a charged particles passes, it ionizes some gas atoms (releases some electrons) that propagate toward the positive electrode to generate a pulse which can be counted. The name comes from the physicists, Hans Geiger and Walther Muller, who invented this counter in their collaboration with Ernest Rutherford in discovering the atomic nucleus.ISCRIZIONI
